Marilyn Nash

Marilyn (she/her) is a spiritual director and educator who believes in Revolutionary Love. Rooted in Ignatian spirituality, her commitments include spiritual discernment rooted in right relationship; the intersection of faith and racial justice; embodied healing work; and accompanying people in making meaning of small moments and big choices.

As a consultant Marilyn facilitates 1:1 conversations, small groups, and presentations to encourage values-based decision-making that accounts for our current social context and the distortion of Whiteness (as a culture of racism.) She teaches Ignatian Spirituality at Seattle University, regularly facilitates the "Cultivating a Life of Discernment" series, and guides retreats for groups & non-profits.

She was born in Pennsylvania, moved to Seattle as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. After JVC:NW, she worked in social services accompanying communities who were homeless or on the margins. She earned her BA in Social Work and is an alumna of Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry, holding a Master of Arts in Transformative Spirituality with a specialization in spiritual direction. She attended the Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle. She previously served as the Campus Minister for Ignatian Spirituality and the Campus Minister for Social Justice at Seattle University. She continues teaching but left fulltime work at the university to devote more time to A Change of Being, spiritual consulting.

She finds joy in being an auntie, in co-creating good spaces with good folks, and engaging her senses to encounter Spirit in herself & the world.
